THE FLOATING HEADZ

are a songwriting and music production duo from Montreal, comprised of Mike Valletta and Matt Gillis. They have been called “Hit makers” and are known as some of Canada’s best songwriters.
 
They have a certified Gold record in Canada, and were nominated for song of the year by L’ADISQ. They have written and produced over 30 Top 40 radio hits on  the Québec Top 100 BDS chart, and have been featured in Billboard magazine.
 
Mike and Matt founded the band M.T.L at 16, and went on to write some of Quebec’s classic hits like “Tu ne Peux pas voler mon soleil” and “Red Cups”. They were signed to Universal and toured with Simple Plan and Sean Paul. They went on to have several more hits on radio as “Made Them Lions”, and later Mike went on to develop a successful solo career after becoming a finalist  on the show La Voix with #1 hits like “M’envoler” and “Waiting v.f” which peaked at #14.

The two then went on to form a “for hire” writing and production duo in 2015, and have since helped develop many of Quebecs top 40 artists both independent and signed. They have been called in by Universal to participate in various writing camps and sessions to write, produce and to lead the development of some of their most promising up and coming artists. 

They have recently founded “Alt Culture Records” and indie label which boasts 4 incredibly talented artists who have been getting a-lot of attention from major labels and fans alike. As 2026 wraps up the duo have more in store for 2027.
